Shweta Bhatt, the wife of Sanjeev Bhatt made an emotional appeal on 28th March from the social media handles of the former IPS officer Sanjeev Bhatt. The former Police officer is in jail for the last 32 months after he was directed by Jamnagar Sessions Court in June 2019, sentencing him to life imprisonment.
It has now been 2 years 8 months and 9 days since Sanjiv was wrongfully taken away in a politically motivated move to silence his voice of truth once and for all.
After over 32 months of languishing in Jail for a crime, he did not commit, our first appeal against his unlawful conviction to life imprisonment has been listed in the Gujarat High Court to be heard on the 30th of March 2021.
Praying and hoping that righteousness, justice and duty will take precedence over political subservience.
Hoping for the day when justice will prevail, and the truth will triumph over evil and political prowess.
Former police officer Sanjeev Bhatt in a letter alleged that Narendra Modi was a participant in the 2002 Gujarat riots while he was the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Sanjeev Bhatt was sentenced to life imprisonment on 20 June 2019 for the death of a man in police custody in 1990.
On Tuesday, 23rd March, Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut while speaking to media said, “If a government is dropped on the basis of a letter written by a policeman, or the resignation of the Home Minister-Chief Minister, then I am making a mockery of the BJP and Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad.”
“I would like to ask that IPS Officer Sanjeev Bhatt and another officer have written such letters against Gujarat government many times. Will you take action against the then Chief Minister or the current Chief Minister? Sanjeev Bhatt’s allegations were even more serious than Parambir Singh’s allegations. But you put Bhatt in jail.’
Raut said that letters written by Bhatt should also be taken out and discussed. He said that Shiv Sena has that letter and whether Law Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad will act on it?
